Like a Dog with a Bone
Often the symbols in our dreams are figures of speech–abstract ideas depicted in concrete images. I’ll bet you’ve said , “He’s like a dog with a bone.” You meant he wouldn’t let something go. A dog with a bone in your dream might mean that someone (probably you) won’t let go of something. Or you might throw a dog a bone, meaning to do something to appease a nagging or troublesome feeling or issue. Can you think of other meanings for a dog and a bone? How about a gnawing feeling?
What ideas might this bull represent? Think of familiar figures of speech: big as a bull, strong as a bull, mean as a bull, mad as a bull, like a bull in a china shop. Any others come to mind? Who’s the Taurus? Who’s being bull-headed? If you dream of a bull, it may be simply a concrete image of an idea, a trait, or a behavior that needs your attention. It’s very important to remember that your associations with these symbols or figures are personal and unique, not a one-size-fits-all definition from a dream dictionary.
